Wood Dust Designer Maker is a multi-faceted, wood centric woodworking event for the designer, enthusiast and professional woodworker exploring the art of design for woodworking and the processes of fine craftsmanship.

Wood Dust Designer Maker offers participants three core events running side by side, choose your own program of events and fulfil your design and woodworking dreams.

Wood Dust Designer Maker offers every day from Thursday the 8th till Sunday the 11th of August an ensemble of 3, 2 and 1-day Masterclasses featuring an array of Australian and international designer makers.

Held on the Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th of August, the Weekend at Wood Dust Makers Conference is our new, must see event featuring 6 workshop areas with rolling live demonstrations 4 times a day – choose your own program of hardcore design and woodworking learning.

The Designer Maker Venue – FAB9

FAB9 is Melbourne’s newest makerspace housed in a beautiful, heritage listed 1900’s factory building in down town Footscray with parking and easy access to public transport.

FAB9 provide tools, technology and training for anyone interested in making. The space is purpose built for designing and creating with open-access to high end prototyping equipment for a monthly membership fee. They are a place for craftspeople, artists, hardware entrepreneurs, engineers, designers, tinkerers and anyone who wants to experiment and explore through the making of physical objects.

At FAB9 you can get your hands-on tools from classical wood-working equipment to CNC router, laser cutters and 3D printers. Whether you’re an amateur completing your dream DIY project, or an inventor set to create the next world-changing product, FAB9 are open to all skill and interest levels.
