How far is the Bungendore Showgrounds from the centre of Bungendore?

The Bungendore Showgrounds are located 5.7 kilometres west of the Bungendore township via the Bungendore Road turning left at Mathews Lane.

Can I park at the Timber and Tool marketplace?

Yes – there is parking available at the Bungendore Showgrounds with gold coin donation. There will also be shuttle buses running to and from the Bungendore Woodworks Gallery in the town centre via the Bungendore train station to the festival.

What are the travel times by car to Bungendore?

The journeys listed below are approximate and depend on traffic:

From Canberra airport via Kings Highway: 30 minutes
From Canberra via Kings Highway: 40 minutes
From Mittagong via Federal Highway: 1 hour 40 minutes

Will camping be available?

Yes – Camping is available at the Bungendore Showgrounds Campsite during the festival. Check out the Visit the Region page on the Wood Dust website or see the Camping FAQ below.

When is the Wood Dust Festival?

Wood Dust, The International Timber and Woodworking Festival will be held from Wednesday the 17th to Sunday the 21st October 2018, 5 great days of all things woodworking. Visit our Program to learn more about the Wood Dust Festival.

What is the address of the festival?

Wood Dust features a number of Events at different Venues including:

How do I find out which demonstration is happening or exhibitor appearance is occurring on what day?

At the Timber and Tool Marketplace a general Timetable will be available to guide you. Visit our Program page for a detailed itinerary of all events.

Is the Timber and Tool Marketplace catered?

The Wood Dust Timber and Tool Marketplace will feature an array of local food vans, coffee and craft beer vendors.

Can I bring my dog to Wood Dust?

Ticketing FAQs

Where can I buy tickets from?

Tickets to all events at Wood Dust are available from our website, please visit our Program page.
Tickets to the Timber and Tool Marketplace and “Yarns at the Q” may also be purchased at the Ticket Office on both days of the event.

What are the age limits on tickets?

Age limits of tickets vary depending on the Wood Dust event.

Wood Dust Timber and Tool Market Place: Individuals aged 13 and over must purchase an Adult or Concession ticket, individuals 12 and under are free.

Wood Dust Masterclasses and “Yarns at the Q”: All individuals must purchase either an Adult or a Concession Ticket.

How do I qualify for a Concession Ticket?

Concession tickets are available to individuals with an Australian government issued Seniors Card, Australian government issued Pension Card or Student Card from a recognised Australian education provider. If you nominate to purchase a Concession ticket you will be required to present the relevant Concession card(s) when entering the festival. Remember to take your valid proof of Concession with you to the event.

Will Day Passouts to the Timber and Tool Marketplace be issued?

When you enter the Timber and Tool Marketplace you will be issued a wristband. You must wear this wristband at all times whilst at the event. On the day your ticket is valid, you may leave and enter the event site anytime you wish whilst wearing your wristband.

Is my ticket to the Timber and Tool Marketplace valid for both days?

An Adult or Concession ticket may be used on either of the two days of the Timber and Tool Marketplace but are SINGLE USE ONLY AND VALID FOR ONE DAY OF ENTRY to the event. If you wish to attend both days of the Timber and Tool Marketplace, you must buy a second day access ticket available from the MAIN GATE TICKET BOX ONLY on Sunday the 21st of October 2018.

Second Day tickets to the Timber and Tool Marketplace will be discounted. To qualify for a discounted Second Day Ticket, you must present your first day ticket and be wearing your festival wristband when you purchase the ticket at the main gate. If you do not present both items, you will not quality for a discounted Second Day ticket.

Can I buy a two day ticket to the Timber and Tool Marketplace?

Tickets to Wood Dust events including the Timber and Tool marketplace are single use only. If you wish to purchase tickets to both days of the Marketplace you must buy two tickets. Second day tickets may be purchased at the gate on Sunday the 21 October 2018 (conditions apply). The cheapest way to attend both days is to buy your first ticket online and buy your second day ticket at the event ticket box on Sunday the 21 October 2018.

Can I get a refund?

As Part of the Wood Dust Terms and Conditions that you have agreed to when purchasing tickets, Wood Dust does not refund tickets. Refer to the Wood Dust Terms and Conditions to learn more.

Camping FAQs

How do I book a campsite at Wood Dust?

Bookings for campsites at the Bungendore Showgrounds for the Wood Dust Festival open on the 1st April 2018. Book a campsite by emailing our team at hello@wooddustaustralia.com.

Can I bring a bus or caravan to camp/park at the festival?

Yes, buses are allowed to camp at the Bungendore Showgrounds, vehicles over 6 metres will incur extra fees.

When can I come in and set up my campsite?

You may come set up your campsite at anytime except between 8.30am and 5.30pm of the 20 and 21 October 2018. You may park in the Wood Dust public carpark while waiting to enter the campsite. Read the Wood Dust Camping Terms and Conditions to learn more.

Can I bring my car?

Yes – you may park one car at your campsite. Extra vehicles must be parked in the Wood Dust public carpark. Please note vehicle movement onsite during the festival is restricted. Read the Wood Dust Camping Terms and Conditions to learn more.

Are there any powered sites?

Yes – there are powered and non-powered camping sites available.

Are there showers?

Yes – the camp sites offer showering and toilet facilities, there is also a camp kitchen available.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

Yes – you may bring you own alcohol to the campsite but not into the main Festival area. If you are found in possession of alcohol in the festival area you will be ejected by security.

If it rains A LOT, and I decide that I don’t want to come, will I get a refund?

Wood Dust is an ALL WEATHER event, the festival will proceed rain, hail or shine. No refunds will be offered due to incremental weather. Visit the Wood Dust Terms and Conditions to learn more.

What time can I go into the festival each day?

The Timber and Tool marketplace is open from 9.00am to 5.00pm on the 20 and 21 of October. Visit the festival Program page to learn more.

Can I cook my own food?

Yes – you may cook you own meals in the camping area. No “home or camp cooked” food of any kind will be permitted in the main festival area.

How much room will I have to set up camp?

You do not have an unlimited amount of space for your camp setup, a reasonable sized tent for the amount of people staying in that tent only, will be allowed. Eg: four adults camping then a 6 man tent is deemed reasonable. Please email the office at hello@wooddustaustralia.com if you are unsure whether your tent setup is suitable

If I bring my caravan or motorhome what do I do with our waste water?

The Bungendore Showgrounds camping grounds has a waste water dumping point available.

Masterclass FAQs

What time do the Masterclasses Start?

The 3 Day and 1 Day masterclasses start promptly at 9.00am each morning. The Short Course Masterclasses start promptly at the time indicated on the Short Course Timetable. Festival Management asks you to please arrive 30 minutes before your start-time for registration and briefing on the first day of your Masterclass.

What do I need to bring to my Masterclass?

To participate safely in a Wood Dust Masterclass, you MUST bring your own Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Failure to provide or wear adequate PPE may result in you being denied participation in the masterclass. PPE includes:

  • Ear muffs, for hearing protection
  • Eye protection, for eyesight protection
  • Covered Shoes to protect your feet from sharp and falling objects.

Otherwise everything you need will be provided at a Wood Dust Masterclass.

What should I wear to a Masterclass?

To safely participate in a Wood Dust Masterclass, you should wear sturdy, fitted, comfortable clothing with covered shoes. Clothing should not be overly loose or bulky.

Where are the Wood Dust Masterclasses being held?

The Wood Dust program of Masterclasses are being held at the Dunstone Design Workshops,

How do I Purchase a Wood Dust Masterclass Ticket?

Wood Dust Masterclasses Tickets may be purchase on the Wood Dust website via our provider Shopify. Once you purchase your Masterclass online, Festival Management will contact you via email with further information.

My Masterclass includes tickets to Yarns at the Q. How do I access these tickets?

Once you pay for your Masterclass online, Festival Management will contact you with further information. A 3 Day Masterclass ticket covers both sessions of Yarns at the Q. If you hold a one day Masterclass ticket you can discuss with Festival Management which Yarn you would like to attend, and the relevant ticket(s) will be dispatched to you via email.

Can I set up a Payment Plan for a Three Day Masterclass?

Yes. Payment Plans for Three Day Masterclasses are available to approved customers, conditions apply. If you wish to arrange a payment plan for a Three Day Masterclass, contact John Madden at hello@wooddustaustralia.com to discuss.

Can I set up a Payment Plan for a One Day or Short Course Masterclass?

No. Payment plans are only available for Three Day Wood Dust Masterclasses.

Can I park at Dunstone Design for my Masterclass?

Street parking is available close-by to the Dunstone Design workshops on Aurora Place. Disabled parking is also available close to the workshops, please enquire on arrival. To ease the risk of congestion, Wood Dust ask participants to car pool where possible.

Can I bring my own tools to my Masterclass?

Unless otherwise instructed, Wood Dust Masterclasses will provide all the tools and materials required to complete each class. You are, however, free (and encouraged) to bring your own favourite tools.

Do I need to bring Food or Refreshments to my masterclass?

Depending on which masterclass you participate in, various meals will be provided during the event. Please refer to the Course Description for further information. Please advise Festival Management of any dietary requirements. You are free to bring additional refreshments if you desire them.

Can I bring my children or friend to watch the masterclass but not participate?

People without a valid Masterclass ticket will not be granted access to the event under any circumstances. Individuals 12 and under are not permitted to enter the Dunstone Design workshops at any time or under any conditions.

If I don’t attend my Masterclass, can I get a refund?

How do I get an Exhibitor, Food or Market Stall at the Festival?

Wood Dust welcomes food and market stalls of all kinds. Visit the Wood Dust Exhibitors page or contact the Stall Manager John Madden at hello@wooddustaustralia.com with any Exhibitor enquires.

How do I become a volunteer?

Volunteers will play an important role at Wood Dust. Contact Festival management at hello@wooddustaustralia.com if you wish to be a Wood Dust Volunteer.

I am an artist/in a band, how do we apply to play at the Wood Dust 2018?

Wood Dust invites musicians and entertainers to perform at the festival. Contact Festival management at hello@wooddustaustralia.com if you wish to be a Wood Dust entertainer.

Will the daylight saving time change affect the festival in 2018?

Wood Dust operates on Eastern Standard Time.

What does Shopify do with your personal information?

When you purchase something from the Shopify store, as part of the buying and selling process, Shopify collects the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address. When you browse our store, Shopify also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide Shopify with information that helps them learn about your browser and operating system. Email marketing (if applicable): With your permission, Shopify may send you emails about their store, new products and other updates.

How do you get my consent?

When you provide Shopify with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, Shopify assumes that you consent to Shopify collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

How do I withdraw my consent?

Will Shopify disclose my personal information?

Shopify may disclose your personal information if Shopify is required by law to do so or if you violate Shopify’s Terms of Service.

Who hosts Shopify online?

Our Shopify store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide them with the online e-commerce platform that allows Shopify to sell their products and services to you. Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

How does Shopify take payments?

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard and American Express

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Does Shopify use third party services?

In general, the third-party providers used by Shopify will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to Shopify.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information Shopify are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, Shopify recommends that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or Shopify. So, if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

Once you leave our Shopify store website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

Is my personal information secure with Shopify?

To protect your personal information, Shopify takes reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you provide Shopify with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, Shopify follows all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

Does Shopify use cookies?

Here is a list of cookies that Shopify uses. We’ve listed them here so you can choose if you want to opt-out of cookies or not.

  • _session_id, unique token, sessional, Allows Shopify to store information about your session (referrer, landing page, etc).
  • _shopify_visit, no data held, Persistent for 30 minutes from the last visit, used by our website provider’s internal stats tracker to record the number of visits
  • _shopify_uniq, no data held, expires midnight (relative to the visitor) of the next day, Counts the number of visits to a store by a single customer.
  • cart, unique token, persistent for 2 weeks, Stores information about the contents of your cart.
  • _secure_session_id, unique token, sessional
  • _storefront_digest, unique token, indefinite If the shop has a password, this is used to determine if the current visitor has access.
How old must I be to use Shopify?

By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age of majority in your state or province of residence and you have given Shopify your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site.

What happens if Shopify’s policies change?

Shopify reserves the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website.
