About the masterclass
Sorry SOLD OUT!
The beauty of woodworking is that you are never done. There are always more skills and techniques to learn and apply to your work. The first things we master are converting a tree into components and then join those components together to make a thing, but where do you go from there?
Inlaying smaller pieces of wood and other materials is a great way to bring your woodworking projects to the next level. Join Vic as he guides you through the basics of inlay. This class will cover:
- Design and layout
- Substrate preparation
- Inlay material selection
- Sizing inlay
- Cutting and installing
- Tools and techniques
- Final finishing
During the class, you will have a sample board that you will prepare and use throughout. You will learn how to incorporate line inlays (both straight and curved), panel inlays, berries and even inlaying silver. All of the hands-on techniques used during the class will be hand tool-based but Vic will demonstrate the power tool options for you as well.
It may look like a difficult technique, but like anything else in woodworking, once you learn the technique you’ll wonder why you waited so long to give it a try. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to take your woodworking to new heights. Between Vic’s relaxed teaching style and his sense of humour it promises to be a great day.
This course is perfect for anyone wishing to embellish and decorate their furniture and other woodworking projects. It is suitable for both the intermediate and professional woodworker – only 14 places available so book your place today.
